Welcome to Forget-Me-Not Clubs, Swansea

Forget Me Not Dementia Day Clubs began in Swansea in 2010 and were created for people living with dementia, and their carers, to attend together. Since then, the number of clubs has grown and there are now seven clubs held in various locations across Swansea.

Our day clubs provide a social, inclusive environment to give the person living with dementia, and their carer, an opportunity for friendship, social support and the opportunity for members to live well with dementia.

Each Club is run by volunteers, and this integrates people living with dementia, and their carers, into the local community. Friendships develop and carers provide peer support and learn from each other, as well as being provided with information from club leaders and professionals who visit the clubs. Our clear objective is to make life as pleasant as possible for both the person living with dementia, and their carer. Many carers feel the clubs provide a short respite from their caring role, as they are able to chat to others in the same situation as themselves and share tips on caring for their loved ones.

What do we do in the Clubs?
Games, activities, arts and crafts, quizzes, trips and entertainment and also celebrations on many occasions.
